More than 700 players from 40 different nations have registered to take part in the Liverpool International Junior Tournament which takes place at The Liverpool tennis Center in the heart of Liverpool.
Tournament director Anders Borg says ; we are so proud of getting so much interest around our events, Liverpool have now become a major hub for up and coming tennis talent fro all around the world and its become an important part of a pathway that can take players onto the professional circuit or the excellent opportunities that arise in the United States where studies and topp class tennis can be gained through tennis scholarships.
The tournaments also gives up and coming local talent the chance to play against the very best in their classes through gaining wildcards allocated from the LTA and tournament organizers.
Overall these International Junior events which takes place 5 weeks a year in Liverpool is also a major boost for the local economy such as hotels, shops restaurants and taxis as thousands of players decent upon the city center during each event.
