‘It is a great pleasure to welcome all visitors to Oslo for the biggest international tennis event in Norway in a long time. Norway’s climate is not the best suited in the world for tennis, and for a great part of the year, the sport has to be played indoors. Thankfully, in Oslo we have the Oslo Tennis Arena, which gives both the young and the not so young the opportunity to enjoy tennis. I hope the Norwegian Open will inspire many children in Oslo to pick up the racket. Tennis is fun to watch but even more fun to play. I would like to thank the organisers for making this event happen, and I wish everybody the best of luck and a fantastic stay in Oslo!’
