Northern Vision is delighted to announce that the first ever-official International Tennis Federation Junior event will take place in Liverpool at the Wavertree tennis centre from the 16th to 23rd November 2013.

ITF events are staged on a weekly basis around the world and give junior players an opportunity to gain valuable ranking points, and the potential to qualify for grand slam junior events at the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open.

“We are proud and delighted to get to stage this event in Liverpool. This is an important event for all the up-and-coming kids in Liverpool, as some of them will be given wild cards into the qualifying event, giving them an opportunity to assess their level against some of the best players within their age group. We expect players to come from all over the world to play in the AEGON Liverpool International and have already had applications from Russia, India and Africa.” says tournament director Anders Borg of Northern Vision, who also organizes the Liverpool Hope International Tennis Tournament in June each year.

Liverpool City Council’s cabinet member for culture and tourism, Wendy Simon said: “It’s a great coup for the city to host this event, which will give younger players the opportunity to hone their skills and potentially qualify to play in some of the world’s most famous competitions. The facilities at Wavertree are first-class and it’s exciting to think it could play a key role in producing future tennis champions.”
